No Scrubs!

My cousin works as a nurse in the United States for more than 5 years now. And during her first year there, she have often grumbled about not knowing where to buy cheap scrubs in the state she was first assigned. She would then tell us to buy scrub tops here or have her mom sew for her and then later send it through courier, which in our computation turned out to be equally expensive as directly purchasing it there.

Talk about savings, huh?

She finally realized that the most practical thing to do was to find nursing scrubs that complement her style and budget, without having to go through the trouble of having them sent all the way from the Philippines. It wasn’t long before she found the perfect place online to get uniforms that actually look great on her and reasonably priced as well. Well, who ever said it can't be found there?

Now, that makes one more happy stylish nurse.

I Love Wantame (The New Game in Town)!

Wantame ~ The new game in town!

Last week, when Mom and I went to play in my favorite Power Station in Power Plant Mall, I was sad to see only 2 Love and Berry game machines and they were already occupied with a long line of girls waiting for their turn. They used to have 7 of them, that's why I was really surprised to see the rest of the stations unplugged and kept in one corner. I thought maybe they ran out of cards, which happens most of the time. So we went around to check out other games, when I discovered something new-- WANTAME!

Wantame game (Won! Tertainment Music Channel developed by Capcom) is pretty much like the Love and Berry Dress Up and Dance game, but they have kitties and other animals ready for dressing up, singing, dancing and even cooking! It's an interactive screen touch game, where players need to touch the screen directly by finger for selecting icons, rhythm games, miracle chances and other fun activities.

The machine gives out the following cards: Kitten Cards, Miracle Power Cards (all 5 types), Fashion Cards: Clothes (all 32 types), Fashion Cards: Accessories (all 24 types) that can be used for different settings, themes and backgrounds. By the way, the cards are a little smaller than the Love and Berry cards. Maybe I need a new album for this?

This is what I played and I lost! Hahaha!

It's a lot of fun to play! But the thing is, the game doesn't have English instructions so I had to guess what to do next. Words are ALL in Japanese characters. Ughhh. =( Anyways, do check it out and try playing this new kind of screen touch rhythm game and tell me what you think!

I'm Back Again!

Hello friends! I'm back!

I've been too busy with school lately and we just had our first long test last week (I got 96% in Math! Yey! :). I love my new section, classmates and teachers. There will be a couple of firsts I'm very excited to do this year - real laboratory experiments in Science (didn't I tell you I wanted to be a scientist someday?) and learn crafts and cooking in Home Economics. I also joined the Young Artists Club, so that means more art activities for me!

I'm sure this school year 2010-2011 will bring me loads of fun and surprises!

Please bear with me if I am not able to post regularly. I need to concentrate extra in my studies because I want to get higher grades this school year. But don't worry! Mom is always here to help me with school and blogging, so the fun doesn't end here. Promise!

I miss all of you! Please continue visiting my home on the net. *hugs* :-D

Looking for Karen

I love books!

I met Karen last year. We are about the same age and she wears glasses too. That's why when Mom introduced me to her, we instantly became a hit! Even BFFs. And ever since I met her, I never stopped looking for her everytime I pass by a bookstore.

Karen, is the baby-sitters little sister. Yes, she is the star in the book Baby-sitters Little Sister by Ann M. Martin.

According to Wikipedia:

Baby-Sitters Little Sister is a series spin-off of The Baby-sitters Club book series. Written by Ann M. Martin, the series centered on seven-year-old Karen Brewer, the stepsister to Kristy Thomas of The Baby-sitters Club. In this series, Karen is a second grader at Stoneybrook Academy.

In the beginning of the series, Karen and her younger brother Andrew live primarily with their mother and stepfather. They visit their father and stepmother every other weekend and for a few weeks on vacations. Starting with Baby-Sitters Little Sister #48, Karen's Two Families, Karen and Andrew began switching houses every month. At this point, each book covered the month at their respective house (unlike the earlier books, such as Baby-Sitters Little Sister #3, Karen's Worst Day, which only covered a short amount of time).

Although the series covered holiday celebrations every year in real-time, Karen only celebrated her birthday once (she turned seven in Baby-Sitters Little Sister #7, Karen's Birthday). Similarly, no other main character celebrated a birthday during the run of the series.

Certain events in The Baby-sitters Club overlapped in the Baby-Sitters Little Sister series, although the timeline was shown to be off by about a year[citation needed]. Although, in some Baby-Sitters Little Sister books, Karen sometimes talks about the members of the Baby-sitters Club: Kristy Thomas, Claudia Kishi, Mary Anne Spier, Stacey McGill, Dawn Schafer, Mallory Pike, and Jessica "Jessi" Ramsey.

The series began in 1988 with the publishing of Karen's Witch, and ended twelve years later in 2000 with the publishing of Karen's Cowboy.

Mom bought me my first Karen book at a book sale along with other Baby-sitters book. Mom said they don't sell them in regular bookstores anymore, and that we can only find them in specialty bookstores that sell back issues. So whenever we go the mall, we check them out first before anything else.

I got this list from Wikipedia and took out the ones that I already have. I still have a long way to go, but I hope you can help me find them too!
